Meet Nancy

Reaching children in crisis, in hard to reach places, that is where you will find Nancy, a wife and mother of two adult children.  From her first humanitarian aid trip in 1971 until now, Nancy has made over thirty trips to countries to help hurting children.

While Teach the Children is a humanitarian aid organization, Nancy holds a sincere faith in the power of Jesus and prayer. It is the compassion of Jesus that gives her the sincere desire to go and to help the poorest of the poor in nations unreached and unhelped. Nancy officially started Teach the Children to help hurting children in 1995.

The first project was to help start a school for Sudanese Refugees in Cairo, Egypt. Other projects followed in Israel, North Sudan, Southern Sudan, Algeria and Morocco. In each case, Teach the Children was able to work with children who are oppressed by governments, abusers, war, famine, and poverty.

Nancy knows that God has a plan for each and every child and they are valuable in His sight. Often all that is needed is to let them know that someone cares and someone who crosses their path will not forget them in their time of need. Our prayer is that the child who is touched will grow up to be an adult who will help others.

Mother Teresa said it best when she said, “Children long for somebody to accept them, to love them, to praise them, to be proud of them. Let us bring the child back to the center of our care and concern. This is the only way the world can survive because our children are the only hope for the future.”

Nancy has a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and a Masters degree in English as a Second Language.  She taught in public and private schools for 13 years.  Besides Teach the Children outreaches, Nancy has written numerous magazine articles about educational and children’s issues to promote public awareness of children’s needs. Some of the magazines she has written for include Charisma, Viva Network, The Billy Graham Association Missions Magazine—World Pulse, and Rainbows of Hope. She is a contributing author in the book Reaching Out to Children with AIDS published by Marc Publishing, and she co-authored A Call to Prayer for Children, Teens and Young Adults in the 10/40 Window, published by YWAM Publishing.

Nancy has been a featured speaker at awareness conferences including: Faces of Children, Rainbows of Hope, Children’s Expo and Women’s Summit on the Window.  Nancy attends Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, OK.
